As for humans, there are reports that an increase related to occupational exposure was observed in pneumoconiosis in 8 of 57 workers exposed to the dust associated with mica-scrap grinding, and that as a result of a review of 66 cases of mica pneumoconiosis, 26 cases were judged to have been caused by exposure to pure mica alone and in 6 of the cases, the diagnosis was based on clinical examination, radiography examination, and lung biopsy results (ACGIH (7th, 2001)). From the above, it was classified in Category 1 (respiratory organs). |
