 As for experimental animals, in carcinogenicity studies using rats and mice administered by feed for 78 weeks followed by observation for 28 weeks and 18 weeks, respectively, squamous-cell carcinomas of the forestomach, hepatocellular carcinomas and neoplastic nodules, and hemangiosarcoma were observed in both sexes of rats; and auditory sebaceous gland neoplasms were observed in female rats (NTP TR100 (1978)).
 Also, neoplastic changes were observed in multiple organs in mice: e.g., hepatocellular carcinomas (in females), hemangiosarcoma (in both sexes) and Harderian gland adenomas (in females) (NTP TR100 (1978)).
 As for classifications by other organizations, this substance was classified in R (Reasonably suspected) by NTP (Report on Carcinogens (13th, 2014)).
 From the above, although human carcinogenicity information is lacking, tumor development was observed in multiple organs in both sexes of two species of experimental animals. Therefore, this substance was classified in Category 1B.
