1 | Acute toxicity (Oral) | Not classified |
- |
- | - | Based on the LD50 value of >2,000 mg/kg for rats (OECD TG 423) (Safety Test (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), 2011)), the substance was classified as "Not classified." |

- | - |
Classification not possible due to lack of data. There is no in vivo data. As for in vitro, a bacterial reverse mutation test and mammalian cell chromosomal aberration test were negative (Safety Test (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Access on August 2016)). |
6 | Carcinogenicity | Classification not possible |

In a combined repeated dose toxicity study with the reproduction/developmental toxicity screening test by oral administration (gavage) using rats (OECD TG 422), the neglect of nursing care in parental animals, the decreased tendency in the birth ratio of pups and the decreased number of alive pups on lactation Day 4 in offspring were observed at dose of 800 mg/kg where general toxicity effects (reduced body weight gain, effects on the liver and the kidney etc.) in parental animals were observed (Safety Test (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) (Access on August 2016)). Therefore, the substance was classified in Category 2 based on the effects on nursing care in parental animals and effects on pups accompanied by them. |
8 | Specific target organ toxicity - Single exposure | Classification not possible |
- |
- | - |
Classification not possible due to lack of data. Besides, it is reported that in an oral test using rats dosed at 2,000 mg/kg, blood-like things on perinasal area, soiled perigenital region from urine, ataxic gait and a decreased amount of stools were observed (Safety Test (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), 2011)). The information was, however, not adopted as evidence for classification because the number of administrations was twice. |
9 | Specific target organ toxicity - Repeated exposure | Category 2 (kidney) |

No data available for humans. As for experimental animals, in a combined repeated dose toxicity study with the reproduction/developmental toxicity screening test by oral administration (gavage) to rats (OECD TG 422), necrosis and regeneration of proximal tubules were observed in female rats dosed at 50 mg/kg/day (converted guidance value: 22.8 mg/kg/day), which is equivalent to Category 2, and centrilobular hepatocellular hypertrophy was observed in male rats dosed at 200 mg/kg/day (converted guidance value: 93.3 mg/kg/day) (Safety Test (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Access on August 2016)). However, the effect on liver was not adopted as evidence for classification because hepatocellular hypertrophy was the only finding observed. Therefore, the substance was classified in Category 2 (kidney). |
