P201 P202 P280 P405 P501 |
As for in vivo, it was positive in a micronucleus test with mouse bone marrow cells, and as for in vitro, it was positive in both of a bacterial reverse mutation test and a chromosomal aberration test with cultured mammalian cells (NTP DB (Access on September 2013), IARC 100F (2012)). From the above, it was classified in Category 2. |

P308+P313
P201 P202 P280 P405 P501 |
This substance was classified in Category 1A because it is classified in Group 1 by IARC (IARC 100F (2012)), A1 by ACGIH (ACGIH (1987)), K by NTP (NTP RoC (1980)), and Carc. 1A in EU CLP (ESIS (Access on September 2013)). Besides, urinary tract tumors due to work involving exposure to 4-aminodiphenyl, a carcinogen, are included in Disease designated by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare under the Industrial Safety and Health Act in Japan, and its manufacture is prohibited. According to the cases of cancer by this substance in humans (IARC Supplement 7 (1987)), the bladder cancer risk associated with exposure to this substance was first reported in the 1950s. And among 171 men exposed to this substance between 1935 and 1955, 19 developed bladder tumors. In 1955, an epidemiological survey was initiated on workers exposed to this substance, and following 14 years, 43 out of 541 were diagnosed as carcinoma of the urinary bladder. Furthermore, in a survey of cancer mortality among production workers at a chemical plant, a ten-fold increase in mortality from bladder cancer was reported, but all of the nine cases had started work in the plant before 1949 and had used this substance from 1941 until 1952. |
