Based on the rat LD50 value of 811 mg/kg bw (HSDB (2003)), the substance was classified into Category 4.
1 Acute toxicity (Dermal) Classification not possible - - - - No data available.
1 Acute toxicity (Inhalation: Gases) Not applicable - - - - Liquid (GHS definition)
1 Acute toxicity (Inhalation: Vapours) Classification not possible - - - - No data available.
1 Acute toxicity (Inhalation: Dusts and mists) Classification not possible - - - - No data available.
2 Skin corrosion/irritation Not classified - - - - The substance was classified as "Not classified" based on the document that 24-hour application of 0.5 mL of the undiluted substance to rabbit skin (OECD TG 404, GLP-compliant) did not cause erythema nor edema during the observation period, and the primary skin irritation index value (PII) was 0 (ECETOC 66 (1995)).
3 Serious eye damage/eye irritation Classification not possible - - - - No data available.
4 Respiratory sensitization Classification not possible - - - - No data available.
4 Skin sensitization Classification not possible - - - - No data available.
5 Germ cell mutagenicity Classification not possible - - - - No data available.
6 Carcinogenicity Classification not possible - - - - No data available.
7 Reproductive toxicity Classification not possible - - - - No data available.
8 Specific target organ toxicity - Single exposure Category 2 (systemic toxicity) Warning H371: May cause damage to organs (systemic toxicity) P309+P311: IF exposed or if you feel unwell: Call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician.
P260: Do not breathe dust/fume/gas/mist/vapours/spray.
P264: Wash ... thoroughly after handling.

In the acute oral toxicity study in rats (LD50 value: 811 mg/kg), treatment-related effects included hypoactivity and salivation at the dose levels of 521 mg/kg and above, and ataxia, clear ocular discharge and labored breathing at the dose levels of 750 mg/kg and above. There also were some clinical changes with low incidence such as staining around urogenital organs or nose, abnormal defecation, hypothermia. In the necropsy of dead animals, mat dark red or reddened adrenal glands, abnormalities in stomach, hemorrhagic thymus glands, and intestinal abnormalities (HSDB (2003)). Based on the findings above, although it was difficult to specify the target organ(s), the dose levels were involved within the range of Category 2 of the guidance values, therefore, the substance was classified as Category 2 (systemic toxicity).
9 Specific target organ toxicity - Repeated exposure Classification not possible - - - - No data available.
10 Aspiration hazard Classification not possible - - - - No data available.
