Moreover, it was also reported that, in the 2-year feeding study in rats at the dose levels, which was equivalent to 50 and 250 mg/kg/day, no significant difference was observed in the examinations of appearance, behavior, body weight and histopathological findings between treated and control groups (JECFA WHO Food Additives Services 52 (2004)). However, the data were antiquated because the year of publication was 1967, and details regarding the methodology and the results were unknown.
