Based on reports of symptoms of irritation of the respiratory tract in rats and mice (ACGIH (2001), PATTY (5th, 2001)) and irritating to the respiratory tract in humans (ACGIH (2001), PATTY (5th, 2001), ICSC (2001), HSFS (1999), SITTIG (47th, 2002)), the substance was classified into Category 3 (respiratory tract irritation). Based on reports that ataxia, decrease in activity, and coma occurred but resolved in rats (ACGIH (2001)) and that the substance can cause headache, vomiting, dizziness, staggering, and unconsciousness in humans (ACGIH (2001), PATTY (5th, 2001), ICSC (2001), SITTIG (47th, 2002)), the substance was classified into Category 3 (narcotic effects).
