Based on the classification of "Group 2B" in IARC (IARC vol. 50 (1990)) and classification of "R" in NTP (NTP RoC 11th (2004)), the substance was classified into Category 2. Hepatocellular adenomas were found in a mouse oral administration test (200 mg/kg, for 540 days) and tumours of the large intestine were found in a rat oral administration test (10000 mg/kg for 16-month) (IARC vol. 50 (1990)). However, there are reports that no skin tumour was found in a mouse skin application test and that the difference in intestinal tumour incidence between treated group and control group was not significant in rat oral administration test (maximum dietary level of 2400 mg/kg) (IARC vol. 50 (1990)).
