In a rabbit Draize test (Code of Federal Regulations test procedure) following application of 0.5 g, four rabbits died within 24-hour after application. Two rabbits to which application was made to non-abraded skin survived. One surviving rabbit showed necrosis with severe erythema and edema and the second surviving rabbit showed moderate erythema and slight edema.
