From LD50 value 215 mg/kg (DFGOT vol.4 (1994) and IUCLID (2000)) of the acute oral toxicity test (OECD TG 401, GLP) employing a rat, it was classified into Category 3.
1 Acute toxicity (Dermal) Not classified - - - - Since LD50 value of the dermal administration test employing rats was >4,000 mg/kg (DFGOT vol.4 (1994)), it was classified into "Not classified".
1 Acute toxicity (Inhalation: Gases) Not applicable - - - - Since it was a solid by the definition of GHS and inhalation in gas was not assumed, it was classified into "Not applicable".
1 Acute toxicity (Inhalation: Vapours) Category 3 Danger H331: Toxic if inhaled P304+P340: IF INHALED: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing.
P403+P233: Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed.

It is written that LC50 value (4 hours) of the inhalation exposure test employing rats is 4.6 mg/L (equivalent 1,242 ppm) (DFGOT vol.4 (1994)). Since saturated vapor pressure level (20degC) is 133,000 ppm, it was classified into Category 3 by applying the gas standard.
1 Acute toxicity (Inhalation: Dusts and mists) Classification not possible - - - - Classification not possible due to lack of data

Based on the description of corrosion (PII=7.25) (DFGOT vol.4 (1994), IUCLID82000)) in the skin irritation/corrosion test with rabbits (OECD TG 404), it was classified into Category 1. Incidentally, EU division is R34 (EU-Annex I), corresponding to Category 1.
3 Serious eye damage/eye irritation Classification not possible - - - - There is description of "no irritation" in the eye irritation/corrosive test employing rabbits (OECD TG 405) (AOI 4.71) (DFGOT vol.4 (1994), IUCLID (2000)). However, if the description of "irritates the eyes" in short terms exposure (ICSC (1998)) and the Category 1 of skin corrosion/irritation classification are taken into consideration, classification is not possible.
4 Respiratory sensitization Classification not possible - - - - Classification is not possible since there is no data.
4 Skin sensitization Category 1 Warning H317: May cause an allergic skin reaction P302+P352: IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water.
P333+P313: If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical advice/attention.
P261: Avoid breathing dust/fume/gas/mist/vapours/spray.
P272: Contaminated work clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace.
P280: Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection.

P363: Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
P501: Dispose of contents/container to ...
It was classified into Category 1 from description of possible sensitization (DFGOT vol.4 (1994), IUCLID (2000)) in the Maximization test employing guinea pig (OECD TG 406). In addition, it can be classified as R43 (EU-Annex I) in the EU classification, which is equivalent to Category 1.
5 Germ cell mutagenicity Not classified - - - - The chromosome aberration test employing the mouse bone marrow from the body cell in vivo mutagenicity test was positive and SCE tests done simultaneously were also positive, however, the additionally performed chromosome aberration test and SCE tests were negative (NTP DB (Access on September 2008)). Furthermore, based on a description that the in vivo micronucleus test employing a mouse (OECD TG 474, GLP) was negative (NTP DB (Access on September2008), IUCLID (2000)), it was judged that positive finding became negative by additional tests, and carried out "Not classified".
6 Carcinogenicity Classification not possible - - - - Since it is classified into group 3 by IARC (IARC 63 (1995)), 2B by Japan Society for Occupational Health (Japan Society for Occupational Health advice (2006)), R by classification of NTP (1989) (NTP RoC (11th, 2005)), and 3B by Germany DFG (1991) (ACGIH (7th, 2001)), it will become "Not classified" by giving priority to IARC according to guidance. However, the contents of IARC classification 3 shows the evaluation that a front stomach neoplasm is developed in male and female mice and rats, therefore classification is not possible.
7 Reproductive toxicity Classification not possible - - - - Although it is described as follows in the reproductive toxicity study where male rats were orally administered for 14 days (GLP), " No effect is observed on the average testis weight with 160mg/kg and slight changes in embryo cuticles, etc., are the result of the secondary toxicity. Moreover, there is a slight change, regarding the parental toxicity, in the kidney resulting from the significant stimulation applied to the stomach"(DFGOT vol.4 (1994), IUCLID (2000)), classification is not possible, because there is no description about reproductive functions and it is mentioned that there is no datum for reproductive toxicity (IARC (1995)).
8 Specific target organ toxicity - Single exposure Category 2 (central nervous system), Category 3 (respiratory tract irritation) Warning H371: May cause damage to organs (central nervous system)
H335: May cause respiratory irritation (respiratory tract irritation)
P309+P311: IF exposed or if you feel unwell: Call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician.
P260: Do not breathe dust/fume/gas/mist/vapours/spray.
P264: Wash ... thoroughly after handling.
P270: Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product.
P405: Store locked up.
P501: Dispose of contents/container to ...
P304+P340: IF INHALED: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing.
P403+P233: Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed.
P261: Avoid breathing dust/fume/gas/mist/vapours/spray.
P271: Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area.
P312: Call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician if you feel unwell.
There is a description of "Ataxia, stillness action, nerve tremor, and dyspnea were seen and the symptoms recovered after 96 hours" (IUCLID (2000)) and "It has the influence on a central nervous system and respiratory tract irritation" in the acute oral toxicity test employing rats (OECD TG 401) (ICSC (1998)). Although the effect on the central nervous system is equivalent to Category 1, judging from the guidance value, it was data of List2, and does not meet the criterion 1b3 was taken as Category 2 (central nervous systems) and Category 3 (Respiratory tract irritation) according to the guidance.
9 Specific target organ toxicity - Repeated exposure Classification not possible - - - - It is written in 65-day repeated oral administration test in rats and mice that decreased average weight gains are found by 200 mg/kg (90-day equivalent 144 mg/kg) in rats, and effects on liver and kidney were found by 250 mg/kg (90-day equivalent 181 mg/kg) in mice (NTP TR300 (1986)). Although decreased average weight gains and effects on liver and kidney were found by the dose exceeding the guidance value of Category 2, classification is not possible because the toxicity within the scope of the guidance value of Category 2 is unknown,.
10 Aspiration hazard Category 1 Danger H304: May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways P301+P310: IF SWALLOWED: Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician.
P331: Do NOT induce vomiting.
P405: Store locked up.
P501: Dispose of contents/container to ...
Since there is a risk of chemical pneumonia by aspiration (ICSC (1998)) and the kinematic viscosity is calculated to be 0.458 (20degC) and the figure is expected to be lower at 40degC, it was classified into Category 1.
